Your invitation
Someone you know has invited you to prepare a loan request through Friendly. Your borrower account is called a Member account. The invitation is a starting point; the Patron still decides whether to lend.
Yes. Your account gives you access to the invitation, loan request, agreement, and repayment records.
You need an invitation from someone you know who is considering lending to you. You can explore Friendly and the examples before you are invited. Friendly does not match borrowers with lenders.
Making a request
Open your invitation and describe the amount, purpose, timing, and repayment plan. Add supporting information for your lender to review.
Your lender proposes the terms. You review the amount, interest, costs, repayment schedule, and agreement before accepting.
Friendly communicates the decision and keeps the outcome with your request.
If the loan is approved
You sign the documents for the agreed loan terms. The signed agreement stays in your account with the loan record.
Funds go to your designated receiving account after signatures, account checks, and authorization. The transfer status shows when funding has been submitted and received.
No. Your Friendly sign-in gives you access to requests, agreements, and repayment records. The account that holds or transfers your money has separate account terms. Friendly is not a bank.
Yes. Your terms show interest, servicing charges, other fees you pay, and the repayment schedule before you accept.
Repayment
Make payments through Friendly on your agreed schedule. Your account keeps the schedule, statements, and payment history together.
Yes. You authorize scheduled repayments during loan signing. Payments come from your Friendly account; debits from a linked bank account require you to enable them separately.
Your agreement sets the early-payoff terms. Friendly provides a payoff amount and records the final payment.
If repayment becomes difficult
Raise the issue through Friendly as soon as you can. Include what has changed and when you expect to pay so the next step can be considered.
You can request a change from your loan record. Both parties must agree to revised terms, and Friendly documents the approved changes. Your current repayment schedule applies until the new terms are agreed.
Missed payments are recorded and handled through the loan’s servicing and default procedures. Your agreement sets out the consequences and next steps.
Privacy
Your lender sees information needed to assess and manage the loan, including the request, supporting financial information, agreement, and payment history. They do not see unrelated account activity.
The information supports identity checks, your lender’s review, and loan documentation and servicing. Authorized staff and service providers also handle information for these purposes.
Multi-factor authentication helps protect your sign-in, and document access follows account roles. The privacy notice explains what information is involved and who handles it.
